Hi Theodora:
I believe we should change our outlook on landscaping in the valley. I think we should be focusing more on taking out useless grass lawns, trees & replacing it with edible ornamentals, vegetables, berry plants, fruit trees etc.
In Los Angeles this is already an on-going program

I am looking for ways to adjust our existing landscape into drought tolerant plants, especially reducing the square footage of our lawn. Even though we have adjusted a lot of your original plan over the years, just the bare-bones of your design has worked out wonderfully.
