Hi Theodora: I believe we should change our outlook on landscaping in the valley. I think we should be focusing more on taking out useless grass lawns, trees & replacing it with edible ornamentals, vegetables, berry plants, fruit trees etc. In…

We need to change our schools educational focus using Stimulus money

The "Economic Depression'' is snowballing.

Our economy continues to slide because we have no economic drivers in this country. Most of our widgets are manufactured & imported from China. When you don't have a manufacturing base to drive your economy all you're doing is pushing paper around, just waiting for the ultimate collapse.

What I propose, is doing a complete about face on what we teach in "Public Schools''. Our school systems here in Fresno continue to operate in the same… Continue

Hello Henry, I very much agree with you. Having lived in countries where the land is seen as more of a tool rather than a decoration. I love to make landscapes that are functional as well as beautiful. I have been telling people in Fresno for a long time to switch to more ground covers, drought tolerant plants including natives, Mediterranean, and Australian drought. In Greecee where I lived for 2 1/2 years it is common to see vegitables grrowing in the front yard.

Hello Henry,

Got your message. I am not sure about the details of the alternative fuel workshop. I came across the info so I just shared it with the GF community. You may look into calling them directly (from the State Center's website).

Cheers.

Hi, Henry. I think you just drop off batteries at the addresses. I got this in an email from AAA.

Henry,
1) To my knowledge the stimulus bill is not for for upgrading residential load centers. That has nothing to do with efficiency or clean energy.
2) Regarding your request for a quote, you didn't respond to the other questions I had. I need more information, including what the block grant amount would be.

"I crunched some numbers on this 12.5K Bio-diesel generator. If you put this generator in your back yard, connected it to your home's electrical system, ran it 20 hours a day, for 30 days it would spin your meter backwards & generate approximately $750.00 a month in "Renewable, sustainable income''."

Henry, a few questions:
1) Where are you going to get enough free waste veg oil to brew the biodiesel? Are you planning to sell people the biodiesel? If so, at what cost?
2) How are you setting this up so that PG&E pays people for electric generation? What are you figuring that PG&E will pay per kWh? Is the $750 without any home electrical use or what are you figuring for the home?
3) What is the decibel level for the generator? What is the likelihood that a neighbor would complain and start a conflict over 'noise pollution'?
4) Obviously there is a cost for connection to the residential load center. What have you figured this out at? Many older homes load center are maxed out the amp rating on the panel. Cost to go from a 100A to 200A load center range from $2,000-$2,800. There would be additional labor for generator connection and installation. What is total estimated cost for install?

I look forward to some more information.

Note: You can use 30.4 days per month. That is the average.

Thanks!

As our company, REC Solar, is an installer, we do not actually sell panels. I would recommend you try AEE Solar, http://www.aeesolar.com/.
