Eugene,
Hi, my name is Pete Moe, and I recently joined this forum. I make biodiesel in Clovis, I do it in my garage. I made a machine for about $1,000. Knowing what I know now, I could probably make it for $500. It is made of surplus 55 gallon drums, a water pump, and some immersion heating elements from Lowes. I also have 26 total years in the Air Force, and retired from the Fresno Air Guard a few years back. Do you need any help on the biodiesel front? Your next picnic is April 18th, the same day as Tom Cotter's Solar home tour. I think Tom wants me to show my diesel car and maybe my biodiesel processor that day. I love to answer questions on biodiesel, and my family and I are trying to spread the word about the many green things the average family can do. Contact me if you think we could help each other.

Hi Eugene:
I'll get right to the point. It is absolutely "Mind Blowing'' that there are "Disabled & Able Veterans that are homeless; yes, here in Fresno, California & everywhere else too.
We should ask Mayor Swearingen to secure funds from the "Economic Stimulus Bill to: Renovate delapidated, shabby, run down buildings in the downtown area. Years & years have gone by with nothing being done, til recently to get buildings up to code.
I picked the J.C. Penney Building on the "Fulton Mall'' as a "Greening Project'' that will start a renaissance foundation of a "100% Green Downtown''. We can use these funds to: retrofit existing buildings, businesses, FORECLOSED HOMES with bio-diesel generators that burn 100% vegetable oil. The bio-diesel generator that I sell on my website http://www.henryandersons.org is the generator that I buy at wholesale from a company back east. They ran out of the 20,000 watt per hour Bio-diesel generators because they were the most popular. I HAVE A BETTER IDEA?? Let's use the J.C. Penney Building as a model for the rest of downtown.
The buildings could be retrofitted with the Bio-diesel generators to provide electricity for the building & indoor hydroponic/aeroponic food growing systems would provide: leafy green vegetables, fruits, nuts, herbs, berries anything you grow out in the field can be grown more efficiently & with less water use indoors & within a relatively small space compared to farmland.
Veterans, Homeless, Families, ANYONE can join in the work downtown to provide: FOOD, SHELTER & CLOTHING for EVERYONE.
