First American Hemp House Unsurpassed for Sustainability

America's first house made primarily of hemp has been built. Using a product known as Hemcrete – a mix of industrial hemp, lime and water – a team of 40 volunteers, sub-contractors and designers have recently completed construction of a hemp house located in Ashville, North Carolina (NC). VW Beetle Powered By Human Waste Makes Debut

A Volkswagen Beetle dubbed the “Bio-Bug”, built for

British sustainable energy company GENeco

by UK’s The Greenfuel Company has debuted and is powered by human waste.



The Bio-Bug’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine was converted to run on biogas and still hit about 114 miles per hour. The Bio-Bug uses regular unleaded gas to start, then switches over to methane automatically once it’s running.

Ban On Plastic Bags Approved by California State Assembly





- The state Assembly has narrowly approved a measure that would make California the first state in the nation to ban single-use plastic and paper bags from being handed out at grocery, convenience and other stores.

China Unveils World’s Largest Solar-Powered Building

China has recently unveiled the world’s largest solar-powered building. It is situated in Dezhou, Shangdong Province in northwest China and covers an area of 75,000-square-meters. The design of the building is based on a sun dial and its architectural design features the Chinese characters for sun “日” and moon “月”. Its white exterior was intended to represent clean energy.

Just 57 percent of Americans now think

there is solid evidence the world is getting warmer,

down 20 points in just three years, a new poll says.
