Profile Information

Profile Overview
Hello, My name is Ashley Boujikian, I am a student, cob builder, practicing gardener and bicycle rider. I am the organizer of a project here in Fresno called LocalMotion Fresno. We are comprised of students and other active individuals who pick up the food scraps from many of the Tower District restaurants by bicycle and trailer. We then compost/vermicompost these food scraps to help them along in their journey back to soil. We sell Red worms, worm castings as well as worm bins which we make out of found or bought materials. If you have any questions about the project or would like some worms you can contact me through localmotionfresno@gmail.com or 2849367.
The goal is to create closed cycles in a sustainable manner. I do a lot of gardening with this group at the Pam Kinkade Neighborhood Center, a homeless resource center which is really tackling the homeless issue from its roots. They have big plans to make ecovillages which will include natural buildings, organic perennial, annual and native garden mixes, composting, renewable energy etc. These projects are taking over my life and I love every moment of it. I would like to reach out to the community here on green fresno to network with like minds and like actions. I also want to invite anyone interested in either the LocalMotion or Pam Kinkade project to come join us, each Sunday from 12-4 over this winter we have community workdays at the Pam Kinkade center on Mariposa and B streets in downtown Fresno just off of Fresno and the 99. The number to the center is 4411062 or 2849367 if you get lost or have questions. Looking forward to working with you all to make this a sustainable, beautiful and healthy community.

Hello Ashley,

Nice to hear from you and I hope all is well. Seems like it is. Thanks for asking me to be your friend. I don't know if any of us will be able to make it to the seed exchange--with the good weather there is much to be done.

You are doing lots of great work and making our community a better place.

Thanks, John

Dear Ashley;

Don't forget about the Smart Conference this Saturday Feb 27th @
the Ramada Inn on Fresno & Shaw.
Have you and Rigo seen the Alchohol Can Be A Gas video that I
lent you? What do you think about David Blume? I would appreciate your
comments.

Thanks,
Eugene Brazil

Sorry I didn't make it down there today... I spent the day with RiverTreeVolunteers.org cleaning up trash on the San Joaquin River. Beautiful day out there today!

Next week Nancy and I are teaching a Bicycle Safety class to her "Green Team" until about noon on Sunday. I will suggest to her that we come by Mariposa & B after that. Hope to see you then!
