Worldwide Terra Madre Day - December 10
In honor of Slow Food’s 20th anniversary, Slow Food International invites you to participate in the very first worldwide Terra Madre Day on December 10 -- a day to celebrate eating locally and local food communities. Terra Madre Day will be celebrated in countless ways around the world by the Slow Food network. Today, the organization has more than 100,000 members and 2,000 Terra Madre food communities in more than 150 countries. Celebrations will take place on farms and in homes, in schools and communities, in cities and rural areas.
Want to join in? You can do something large or small, and it need not happen exactly on December 10th -- anything that week is fine. How about a potluck that celebrates the pickles and preserves you put up this summer? Or one in which attendees cook up something that reflects their personal food heritage? It could also be a good time to gather past Terra Madre delegates for a mini reunion. We invite you to get together with chapter members, friends and/or family that day to perform an action together; to register your event go to:
