"Blow the Whistle" on Corrupt Fresno Area Congressmen

Event Description
If a team bought off the ref to win the Super Bowl, it would be a national scandal; so why isn't it a national scandal when corporations pay national politicians who will then vote on matters concerning them? We will symbolically call out this corruption by LITERALLY blowing the whistle on a local Congress member who has accepted donations from the oil and fossil fuel industry and voted in the interest of that industry and against the interest of the people. This is a NONVIOLENT, PEACEFUL event. Let's have some fun, make some noise, and most of all get our message across!

Let's meet at 3:30 P.M. in the parking lot of Rotary Park (located on W. Barstow Ave. between Villa Ave. to the west and Minnewawa Ave. to the east) and then march and/or bicycle the approximately 1.5 miles to the district office of Congressman Devin Nunes to call him out on his donation-and-voting record (see http://dirtyenergymoney.org/ ). There should be plenty of parking to leave your car at Rotary Park. If you are not physically able to walk or bike with us, you can meet us at the park and then go ahead to the office in your vehicle (parking wherever you can find, or getting dropped off) and watch for us to arrive on foot.

In the event of last-minute unexpected obstacles, we will discuss the situation once we meet at Rotary Park, and discuss going to our alternate destination.

Please note that this is a peaceful event. Absolutely NO violence or vandalism!

What to BRING:

-Friends and family!

-Whistles! One for yourself and any extras you can share.

-Referee shirts! One for yourself and any extras you can share.

-Sports attire to wear if you do not have a ref shirt.

-Penalty flags.

-Water and snacks to refresh yourself while walking to the office.

-A bicycle if you wish to ride rather than walk from park to office.

-Walking shoes to go from park to office.

-A sign if you wish.

-Do you have whistles to bring for people to use?

-Do you have referee shirts to lend for this event?

-Do you want to go ahead of us as a scout to check for office closure or other funny business?
